“So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3
Tissues in living organisms undergo constant change and renewal. The old gives way to the new and a new dawn arises. The night is overtaken by the daylight and joy comes in the morning. Life is about the search for rejuvenation and keeping up with it. As we enter the new year, endeavor to live the old self behind and search for ways to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. Leave all malice, anger, hurts, disappointments, deceit, hatred, evil deeds, animosities, and all forms of vices behind you. The old self needs to be regenerated for the new year. If you do that, you are sure to launch yourself into a peaceful, prosperous, and a happy new year. A new you will eventually be unearthed and all your relationships and interactions will hit a new level of success. By pruning yourself of the things that set you back in the year 2019 and putting on the new garment of potential things that will bring success you set yourself up for the upward calling of your maker. You are destined for glory but you can only realize that if you remain connected and firmly rooted to your maker.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither -- whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:1-3).
If our minds, bodies, and souls, are rooted in the Lord, He will take the difficulties, disappointments, grief, and illness in our lives and if we let Him, He will cause our “root system” to stretch and go deeper in Him. We will not be moved by any circumstances. When we are in Christ, we are connected to the source of all living water! We will be fresh and rejuvenated all the time. The Lord does not want the circumstances that surround us to affect or hinder our success or our perception of His goodness.
The Lord wants us to experience prosperity and fruitfulness in the midst of drought in the year 2020. Prosperity comes in many ways, it’s not always financial. It may come as a God-given insight, a creative idea, or wisdom that will eventually bring great abundance to us personally and corporately. As we remain in Him, according to John 15, we will bear much fruit in this new year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
